STEP-C :A center for the promotion of innovation & entrepreneurship

Over 25 years in supporting entrepreneurship and innovation

The Science and Technology Park of Crete (ETEP-K) was founded in 1993 by the Foundation for Research and Technology (FORTH), one of the largest research organisations in the country.

STEP-C incubator covers a total building area of more than 2000 sq.m. (office and laboratory spaces), financed by EU, national and regional resources. It consists of three independent blocks, in which new companies and research labs are hosted. The incubator is located nearby Heraklion, in a privileged natural area where other key players of the local scientific community are also situated (University Hospital, University of Crete, Hellenic Mediterranean University). An important concentration of scientists and research laboratories are found in the greater area of STEP-C, making an ideal entrepreneurial environment for new business ventures.

Today, STEP-C hosts 32 companies which employee approximately 200 experts, most of them in the ICT and Biotechnology sectors.
