1st Conference of Europe’s Network of Science Cafés

Are you a science café organizer? A science café fan, maybe? Or are you just curious about what science cafés can do for science and society?

SciCafé, Europe’s Network of Science Cafés, invites you to attend the SciCafé 2012 conference and accompanying events taking place in the village of Panormos near Rethymno, Crete, Greece, on 2nd – 4th July 2012.
SciCafé 2012 offers an excellent opportunity for researchers and practitioners from Europe and beyond who wish to explore the science café concept. The setting will encourage cross-fertilisation of ideas from diverse fields and contexts, with a special emphasis on demonstrating and jointly investigating science café practices, their strengths and boundaries.

A science café?
Science cafés are informal events of various formats, which all share a common feature: they are relaxed social gatherings, taking place usually (but not always!) in cafés, focused on promoting the public understanding of science.
