If you’re a developer and you do not use a version control system, stop what you are doing right now (i.e. reading this sentence) and start doing so (btw, we can help).

This meetup will include a basic introduction into VCS in general, as well as the specifics of Git — today’s most popular version control system. For more advanced users, we will also chat about more complex topics, such as:

– branching models,
– how to use pull requests,
– different git implementations,
– how often you should commit your code,

– how to write good commit messages,
– popular tools, etc.

All topics will include an open discussion and hands on sessions, where needed.

About DevStaff

There’s a lot of us, devs, here in Crete. Yet, we hardly ever get together in large groups, or even know each other – somewhat strange for our small community, we hope you’ll agree. DevStaff is an attempt at bringing us all together for informal chats about what we’re all passionate about: technology and software!

Join our meetups, learn, teach, speak your mind, sharpen your skills, share the knowledge and help us build a community where devs can openly exchange ideas!

Hint: you don’t need to be an expert to join us! It’s all about learning, remember?
